San Francisco is heating up for Aspen Adams this summer.

With grad school under my belt I’m ready to start the next chapter of my life. San Francisco is a brand new city. I have an amazing apartment, a new job, family, and friends to keep me occupied. Life in the city will be easy.

Keep my head down, don’t break any of the ridiculous rules in my lease agreement, get my best friend through her nasty relationship drama, and stick to my five year plan. I’ve got this. Or at least I would if I could figure out why my heart skips a beat every time I see my hot neighbor.

Handsome, funny, and always around right when I need him, Finnegan McRyan is my own personal knight in shining armor. The tousled hair and sexy glasses don’t hurt his appeal either. Finn acts like the perfect man, but there’s something about him that has me questioning if it’s too good to be true.

Can I count on him when it really matters or is Finn using his good guy image to hide the truth?

Rush is a first in a new exciting contemporary romantic comedy series with a HEA.

Rush The Boys of RDA Book 1 eBook Megan Matthews

First off the blurb caught my attention and it turns out I really liked this one. Megan was a new author to me so I wasn't sure what to expect and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The characters, the setting, the plot...they all worked. Aspen and Finn were both interesting and engaging characters and I was completely sucked into their relationship. I laughed, I cried, I yelled at my kindle...I was invested and that's what I need in a book.

The other thing that made this book a win for me was how completely fleshed out the settings and the secondary characters were. Both added so much to the overall story. I loved Aspen's friends, I wanted to hang out with them, go to lunch with them, party with them. It's so refreshing to read a book that portrays positive female friendships. LOVED THAT. Finns friends are funny and left me wanting more. Plus, I seriously want to visit San Fransisco. The way the city is described, the attention to detail, the cultural and landmarks, all add to and already charming book.

I would say that I will definitely read book two....but I ALREADY DID. :-)

Rush The Boys of RDA Book 1 eBook Megan Matthews Reviews

Aspen has recently moved to San Francisco and landed a new job, following her only family and her Hero, her brother Ben who is also a detective and a husband and soon to be father. Although they have a very close relationship, he is a bit over protective so she took an apartment with a ton of limitations. She has two girlfriends that are funny, supportive, and spunky. While nearly learning to play in traffic she meets her neighbor Finn, he rescues her and she finds out that hot Finn lives in the penthouse across the hall.
Finn is a video game programmer couch surfing in the penthouse while his place is being finished. He sweet romantic and caring but they encounter a big bump early on when Finn overreacts and things look a little bleak, Finn has some real explaining to do and he does to Aspen’s satisfaction but she should question more and she doesn’t. When Finn takes her to meet his friends Trey is awful to her and Finn sort of brushes it off. But again she doesn’t question to much and semi forgives Trey.
Then the morning after a truly awful date at a charity event Aspen’s unwillingness to question Finn, leave her terribly open to pain when Finns secret is revealed and she is awoken to tons of emails and texts concerned about something she was unprepared for. And it stings more when it appears that Finn runs to an ex for comfort.
A very cute romance where honesty should reign supreme this author wrote a humorous story that’s mostly light hearted and upbeat. Great weekend read.
I’m just going to get it all out there by saying that Rush made me laugh quite a bit! I am not one for drama, at least not any more. Aspen to me is a drama queen. She tends to rush to conclusions and make rash decisions. Although having a guy who you are renting from giving you a very strict list of don’ts to live in the in-law apartment of his penthouse kind of makes me think the guy is crazy.
When Aspen first meets Finn, she jumps to the conclusion that since he knows the code for the penthouse that he is in fact the owner, but in reality he’s just sleeping at a friend’s until his new place is finished. I liked Finn, but I had a feeling he was keeping something from Aspen. Once the truth is revealed, well I don’t blame Aspen, but I also blamed Finn for not telling her the truth (that’s all I’ll say on that you have to read the book to find out what it means.)
Finn is a good character and I like him, he gives off a relaxed attitude and seems to really care about Aspen. I did feel that their relationship went through a lot of ups and downs and lack of communication. Once they talk things get better and it seems too good to be true and it is because somethings are said by someone from Finn’s past that just messes everything up for him and Aspen and once things get cleared up you are like finally it took you too long enough…I felt that there was a lot of drama and for me depending on what it is defines how well I like the book or not.
This was a good book and I recommend it, but with the warning of drama ahead.
Rush is my first book by Megan Matthews, part of The Boys of RDA series, featuring Finn and Aspen. Aspen has started a new job, a new apartment with crazy rules… and she’s literally fallen upon her neighbor, who is absolutely delicious.

Aspen was lucky to find her apartment with help from her sister-in-law, despite the crazy rules imposed by her landlord that she had to agree upon – she can make it work. Her focus is her career and that’s the track she’s going to stick to. However, she meets Finn – who she believes is her shining knight – being there exactly when needed. Finn is handsome and sexy in a nerdy, but attractive way. Things just seem to easily fall into place when they’re together.

Megan Matthews has written a story that takes you on a ride, the game is about to begin and the major players are brought to the front. There may be some distractions along the way, but the goal is to determine which are true and false, making the best choices possible to achieve the win!

This book was addictive. Finn seems so sweet through the story, but at the same time, you just know there is more to him and you just want to peel back the layers one at a time to discover more. Megan gives you that and more. There’s romance, humor, fun times and heartbreak mixed together.
I like the story itself. But the heroine?? If she has an MBA, how is it that half of his vocabulary goes over her head? And what is with her comments about his big words??

I felt like she was written as a dumb blonde. Pulled me out of the story ever time she'd think something along those lines. And it made me wonder what the author thought about the education and classes required for an MBA vs whatever the hero was taking at Stafford for three years.

I guess I'm saying the hero was more believable as a character than the heroine.

Plenty of moments where I raised an eyebrow and shook my head, though. However, I liked the story enough to finish it. Not sure if this is any kind of helpful as a review. Since the book was free, though, I feel I got what I paid for.
